Marisa Arbona-Ruiz is an Emmy award-winning broadcast media producer and journalist working in long-form storytelling for news magazine, documentary and film. She is also a contributing arts and culture correspondent for NPR Music on its Alt.Latino podcast and blog and for NBC. Marisa was born into an artistic family and inherited a penchant for the performing arts. She is a screen actor and made her theatre debutthis year at the Kennedy Center. Musically she performs American roots, Native fusion and Latin alternative music and was a singer with Cantigas, DC's former premier Latin American a cappella ensemble. Throughout her multifaceted career Marisa has harnessed the power of the arts to heal, educate and inspire.
