Q. What should I wear?
A. If you can wear it in public, you can wear it to our concert! We want you to feel comfortable. We don’t even want to perform in tuxes and dresses, so why should you?
Q. When am I supposed to clap?
A. This can be confusing. The general rule: if the conductor steps off the podium and turns around, clap away!
Q. Why should I spend what little free time I have for my friends at an orchestra concert?
A. Great question! Nothing is quite like attending a live performance, be it pop, musical theater, classical, etc. We hope you will give us a shot to hear familiar favorites and even expand your musical knowledge! Ask our percussionist, Robert, questions about any of the music planned for this season. For example, did you know Mozart died before completing his Requiem?
Q. I’m too social to sit for 2 hours and not talk!!! Why should I even bother?
A. Our venues put you right up next to the musicians. We encourage you to talk to them before and after the performances! They are passionate about what they do, and would love to tell you all about it.
